Apps you should uninstall on your smartphone ASAP

As we all know, smartphones can perform numerous tasks apart from the basic functionalities of a phone. To execute the various tasks, you need to install a few apps. Undoubtedly, developers will always want some benefits. So, they will tempt you to download those giving you some pseudo-helpful features. While these can simply take up your space for nothing, in worst cases, they may even prove malicious to your privacy. So what kind of apps are they? Let's get into it.

Starting up, I would begin with a list of five such apps that have to be uninstalled from your Android smartphone right away to get a good user experience. Go ahead and check out these from below.

  • Battery savers: Firstly, the tasks they perform you know, like turning down the brightness, turning off WiFi, Bluetooth or cellular data when not in use, clearing recent apps, reducing back-light time etc, which you can pretty much do yourself. Several apps are claimed to save the battery power, but these actually have a load of unwanted features in them. Of course, there are some useful battery saving apps available for smartphones, but they are not many in number. Most of the apps in the category are disguised to be useful. If you won't accept this, you need to know that to increase the battery life, the energy demand should be reduced that is possible by taking control of Android as may times they tell you to grant accessibility permissions.
  • Antivirus apps (PROVIDED YOU USE APPS FROM TRUSTED SOURCES): Antivirus apps that something that you tend to install on your smartphone soon as you start using it. Keep in mind that the abilities of the antivirus apps are something that Android OS and Play Store can do. Google keeps a check on app the apps and Play Store doesn't contain a single number of malicious app as it checks multiple times before the developer gets his/her app on the store. The antivirus apps are useful only while downloading and installing the APK files outside Play Store. Otherwise, you can delete them without any worries. They are simply a burden to your phone's resources. Often antivirus apps come with features like anti-theft, parental control app locker etc which simply are the baits  to attract users.
  • Cleaning apps: It is important to clean your smartphone on a regular basis to boost the performance of the device. The deleted apps might leave some cached data on your device. Some people use apps such as Clean Master to clean the left over data from their device. But, this is not needed. You can remove the same by going to Settings → Storage → Cache Data and clear the same. Even cache can be cleared from Settings → Apps → Downloaded.
  • RAM boosters: Android is a modern OS which is really smart enough to know how to manage your memory usage, which processes to keep and which processes to kill.  It is common for applications to run in the background and this will consume the RAM and battery life to a considerable amount even if the device is not in use. You can stop the background apps to boost the memory. Though you close these apps, they tend to restart in some time. There are apps that claim to save the RAM, but these are not needed as the Android OS can manage the RAM usage all by itself, ruling out the necessity for third-party apps for the purpose.
  • Sensor-based apps: There are many apps on the store like smartWake which are more often than not, only used to show off. While these apps give you a fancy way to unlock your phone in a dramatic way like moving your hands over the phone to unlock it and many more, these cause severe battery drain as the sensors always remain active to detect motion.
Apart from these types there are specific apps which are really notoriously famous for their eavesdropping. Such as our "dear" UC Browser: UC Browser is the msot popular browser in China and India, boasting over 500 million users. But behind the scenes, this app is the biggest "robber" unmistakably. The while before installation take unnecessary permissions like user data including IMSI, IMEI, Android ID, MAC address, geolocation, ability to call, ability to read messages, ability to record audio, ability take photos, ability to modify contents of SD card and the list goes on. What is the need of a browser to access to our phone call logs and messages? Truly, this is a real shit and nowadays it comes with another piece of crap called UC News. Other such apps like ES File Explorer, Flash Keyboard (the app could be considered malware, as the permissions required are used to collect personal information), Dolphin Browser, QuickPic, Clean Master, DU Battery Saver and Xender.

So always check the app permissions before installing any app. So, there you have it. Be aware and stay safe.
